Ooh...I wanna ride on THAT!

Picture
I developed such image upon hearing an enchanted melody while I was eMAD. As the music flowed, I remembered a commercial on television about SeaWorld. In the commercial, two killer whales swam through the open air, under a magnificent bridge and over a golden meadow. Ah, I loved that commercial because of its creativity.

Then I thought to myself about working with an underwater image, with “whale” being the main subject. Out of nowhere, I thought of placing a school bus onto the back of the whale…you know…JUST FOR FUN! And so, I did.

Being a newbie at using Photoshop, I only used marquee and lasso to copy and paste my selections. As for effects, I only used the clone stamp tool and the sharpen tool. Although I thought the image turned out to be a little less than average, I wish to perfect blending effects. I am still unhappy about my merging of the whale’s skin onto the bus. I really wanted to make the bus a part of the whale, but I wasn’t sure how.

I think I should definitely check out more tutorials and read more Photoshop aids. Oh, did you notice that there are corals at the bottom right of the image? I thought it looked amateurish. I REALLY want to learn how to make those corals more realistic.

I really tried my best to make this image, and I am still unhappy with the result. However, I would like to post this image to allow it to become a memory of my new experience with using Photoshop. I hope to improve my Photoshop skills in the future and re-create the same image--polished and acceptable to the artistic eyes.
